Personal Testimony:

Hi! My name is Elvis, and I am a native of Iquitos, Peru.

I had the opportunity to enter Kings and Queens International’s home Casa de Reyes, and I am very grateful for that.

I am the second of four siblings. My mother and father separated when I was 11 years old. It was very hard for me. I suffered from depression, and my parents ignored me. My mother met a man who abused me psychologically and verbally. He insulted me and kicked me out of the house. He physically assaulted my little brothers.  One day I decided to take my life, but something stopped me. I made the decision to go live with my aunt, but it was only for a short time.

I started working when I was 15 years old. I sold fish and food in ports and helped my aunt with some temporary work. I finished school thanks to my aunt. I do not receive moral support or financial help from my father.

My dream is to be a professional chef. I love gastronomy and would like to have my own restaurant someday. I am very happy to belong in Casa de Reyes where they welcomed me very well and where I am a volunteer for their Children's program. Thank you! God bless you!
